Abstract
"The reminiscences and historical accounts preserved in this book were recorded in Plains Cree between 1988 and 1996 during Freda Ahenakew's visits with Cecilia Masuskapoe at Cecilia's home at Ahtahkakoop First Nation. The text - which captures the stories and conversation word-for-word - is presented entirely in SRO ("Standard Roman Orthogrpahy"), the consistent spelling system which has been used in schools and universities across the prairies for over 30 years. SRO is also the spelling system which is now taught at Ahtahkakoop Schoo, and in many other communities where the preservation of the Cree language is valued.

This book is the first collection of authentic Plains Cree prose to be published entirely in its original language. The title, which can be translated into English as There's nothing she can't do: The reminiscences of Cecilia Masuskapoe Published in Cree reflects the respect and admiration that all who know her hold for kêkêk, as she is called in Cree.

In presenting this book to Cecilia Masuskapoe, and to those who value Plains Cree language and culture, we also celebrate the launch of the newly-formed Cree Literacy Network, the purpose of which is to promote fluent reading and writing in SRO among speakers of Cree."--Back cover.
