When he was a boy, Sapp loved hearing the drums that resounded at the Powwows and dances - as well as singing with his father and other friends and relatives. And he spent many hours walking around the reserve, admiring the natural beauty surrounding him. These scenes from the reserve came to be the foundation of his paintings.
