Abstract
"The James Smith Readers series are for the non-graded use by the Primary Indian Children in Levels I, II and III. The set is to include 16 books, exclusive of related materials. Where possible at about age five, readiness will involve pre-school education in an integrated setting where, among other things English may be introduced gradually and informally. At about age six however, a specially prepared formal program in the second language will apply. Adequate mastery of this program will precede introduction to the James Smith readers and other series involving English."--page 1.
