"One of the earliest authentic accounts of European activity in northern North America, the Jesuit Relations describe the heroic enterprise of the Jesuit Order's mission to the Hurons and the Iroquois in the late seventeenth century. This edition focuses on the Jesuit mission to the Hurons which culminated in the martyrdom of Fathers Brébeuf and Lalemant and gives a fascinating glimpse of the Great Lakes Indian culture at the time the white men first came.
