Abstract
"Kinchiyowan chi? is an experimental set of lesson outlines and teaching materials designed to help Cree language instructors teach oral Plains Cree as a first language. The program is aimed at children in kindergarten or grade one whose native language is Plains Cree. The main purpose of the program is to develop these children's skills in speaking their native language ---- control of certain basic grammatical structures, vocabulary and ability to express themselves about their ideas, experiences and surroundings. The lesson outlines also include activities which can help the children develope some cognitive and motor skills which are relevant to the regular school program. No writing is used in this program."--Introduction.
