Description
Expressing themselves in the White Man's world, Indian musicians have adapted the traditional music into a new style which has found its way into the mainstream.

Using her music to propel native issues into the mainstream, Buffy Sainte-Marie shares the special place her music has within the industry, and her role as a trailblazer within the mainstream music industry.

Keith Secola's "NDN Cars" is a song about the Pow-wow and incorporates a Pow-wow beat. Keith and his Wild Band of Indians perform a Round Dance with the audience at their live gigs, recreating the atmosphere of the Pow-wow in cities and towns across the nation.

Known for their unusual harmonies and wide vocal and musical range, Ulali, an a-capella trio, has created a new genre of Native music and inspired the creation of other Native women's groups.
