Description
The Brule (Paul LaRoche) and AIRO (American Indian Rock Opera) DVD "Live at Mt. Rushmore: Concert for Reconciliation of the Cultures" features footage from one of the most profound Native American concerts to ever take place. This DVD was filmed in front of an audience of over 11,000 people at Mt. Rushmore National Monument in July of 2007. The concert itself was conceptualized over the course of nearly 10 years by one of the top Native American recording artists worldwide, Paul LaRoche, aka Brule. Paul, adopted at birth off of the Lower Brule Sioux Indian Reservation of SD, discovered his Lakota heritage at the age of 38 after the death of both adoptive parents. In 1993, he was then reunited with his biological Lakota family. Overwhelmed by this experience, Paul turned his powerful feelings into the music of Brule & AIRO, and made it his mission to bridge the gap between cultures using music and his story as the medium.
