Abstract

"This report presents findings of an inquiry into the claim of the Nekaneet First Nation in south-west Saskatchewan. The claim seeks compensation under Treaty 4 for outstanding provisions of agricultural benefits, programs & services, annual payments to band members, and damages for failure to provide a reserve at the time of the Treaty's signing in 1874. After an introduction on the claim & the claims process, the report summarizes the historical background to the claim, based on the documentary record and written submissions. This is followed by a listing of the issues and discussion of the claims, ending with a brief report on Canada's offer to negotiate a settlement."--WorldCat.org.
