Abstract
"The Story of Chakapas is a traditional Woodland Cree Indian legend. An excellent example of the Cree belief in animism, it concerns the heroic efforts of the Least Mouse in releasing the Moon from an unhappy snare.
The story was collected in 1936 by P.G. Downes, who heard it from the voice of Adam Ballentyne at Pelican Narrows in northeastern Saskatchewan."--Back cover.
