Abstract
"The Ojibwa Lexicon is the product of many years of work on several varieties of Ojibwa. The compilation of entries and the process of editing were facilitated by the use of a computer. This lexicon has certain unique features. It is unique in that it sets out to provide data on a range of Ojibwa dialects and must therefore be considered to be a valuable source of information on the geographical distribution and historical developments of these dialects. A second feature is the existence of the version sorted from right-to-left. Since many features of Ojibwa words are indicated by their endings, scholars should find in the reverse sort a valuable research tool. We see this lexicon both as a contribution to our knowledge of one of the native languages of Canada and as a source of data for scholars interested in the study of the structure of words."--page iii.
