Abstract
"This publication is meant to be used as an introduction to the understanding of the Chipewyan language. A sound system is offered for the non-speaker to acquire the ability to gain a sense of the sound of the language and to be able to reproduce to sounds as a speaker would. Lessons are planned which become progressively more difficult allowing the student to become conscious of the structure of the language as well.
The dialect is that of the Patuanak locality and there is possibility that other Chipewyan communities will have some differences. However, this book should allow a basic introduction to the Chipewyan language."--Introduction.
