Abstract
"This report presents findings of an inquiry into the claim of the Moosomin First Nation in Saskatchewan. The claim alleges that the 1909 surrender of Indian Reserves 112 & 112A near North Battleford was invalid. After an introduction on the claim, the report summarizes the historical background to the claim, based on the documentary record, testimony from elders, and written & oral submissions. This is followed by a listing & analysis of the issues in two broad categories: whether the provisions of the Indian Act, 1906, were complied with when the reserves were surrendered; and the discharge of the Crown's fiduciary obligations with respect to surrender. The report concludes with a recommendation regarding acceptance of the claim for negotiation under the Specific Claims Policy."--WorldCat.org.
