Abstract
"Studies of native Indians in Canadian cities have identified patterns of household composition and economic support which differ from the nuclear family, conjugal pair and single person types that predominate in the white urban population. Native households frequently contain members other than the nuclear family, expanding and contracting as individuals in the extended family require shelter."--Introduction.
