"These Proceedings are of the first annual conference of the Canadian Ethnology Society, held in February 1974, at Levis, Quebec. For three of the eight sessions, Les Systemes Economiques Compares de la Meso-Amerique, Symboloic Anthropology, Alliance Theory, the discussions are summarized. These summaries are in both English and French. For the remaining sessions, Judical Preservation of Ethnic Group Boundaries: The Iroquois Case, Anthropology and Education: the Amerindianization Project so Far, Biosocial Anthropology and Human Ethology, Professional Ethics, Le Chamanisme, the actual papers (ten in all) are included. For each of these there is an abstact in the second language." -- page ii.
